DJ is responsible for various aspects in the design and oversight of the claims review process for the firm’s administration of mass tort and class action settlements. These responsibilities include analyzing and interpreting complex provisions of settlement agreements, developing claims review policies and procedures, coordinating with programming teams on system design and development, training various parties on the use of claims processing databases, leading teams of reviewers involved in specialized claims processing, and designing and developing a range of reports.

His previous experience includes work on settlement matters related to pharmaceuticals, medical devices, property damage, insurance subrogation, vehicle recalls, and claims for lost earnings and profits. This previous work includes serving on the leadership teams responsible for the design and implementation of the claims processing databases for both the U.S. ASR Hip Settlement Program and the $2.3 billion Seafood Compensation Program included as part of the Deepwater Horizon Economic Settlement. DJ’s previous settlement work also includes claims review and the creation of program status reports for various stakeholders as part of an $11 billion insurance subrogation trust.
