In the News: BrownGreer’s AI-Powered Depo-Provera Deficiencies Process

At a recent Depo-Provera MDL case management conference before U.S. District Judge M. Casey Rodgers, BrownGreer Co-Founder Orran Brown, Sr. reported progress in identifying deficiencies in filed complaints, earning coverage in Law360.

The MDL, currently comprised of 551 lawsuits alleging the makers of the contraceptive failed to warn about the risk of brain tumors, is being managed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida. As the appointed Data Administrator, BrownGreer is using AI tools to help identify deficiencies in complaints, earning praise from the judge for streamlining the process.

In his presentation to the Court, Brown noted that the Firm’s deficiency process was well underway, with Judge Rodgers describing the effort as the “smoothest deficiency process I’ve ever seen.”
