BrownGreer announced on April 20, 2016, that it has fully and successfully completed a Service Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type 1 examination. Formally known as a Report on Controls at a Service Organization Relevant to Security, Availability, Processing, Integrity, Confidentiality, or Privacy, SOC 2 reports examine the controls and processes involved in storing, handling, and transmitting data security.
Schellman & Company, Inc., an independent service auditor, conducted the examination of BrownGreer’s Claims Administration Portal Services and MDL Centrality® in the SOC 2 Trust Services principles of Security, Availability, and Confidentiality. Jeremy Kain, BrownGreer’s Information Security Officer, explained that “Our successful completion of this examination on 3/31/16 reflects our commitment to maintaining the security and confidentiality of the data our clients depend on us to maintain, and confirm that we have the necessary safeguards in place to protect and secure their data.”
