Sydney Marie Gustafson joined BrownGreer in 2010 and provides status updates for clients and other government officials. Prior to joining the firm, Sydney assisted with trial preparation, client intake, witness interviews and a variety of correspondence drafting at the Law Office of Vincent L. Robertson. As an intern with the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society, Sydney helped prepare family law trials and participate in administrative hearings. During an internship with the Virginia Office for Protection and Advocacy, Sydney educated disabled members of the community about their legal rights. In 2008, Sydney completed a summer internship in Binghampton, New York with Legal Aid of Mid-New York that focused on family law. Prior to attending law school, Sydney served as a residential case manager for Caring for Children, an Ashville, North Carolina non-profit dedicated to providing emergency shelter for children in crisis and longer-term care for difficult-to-place teenagers.
Lending a hand to those in need continues as Sydney works with BrownGreer to review claims arising from the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico on April 20, 2010. Sydney helped develop facets of a complex claims evaluation system and currently provides research and status updates for client and government officials. In her role with the firm, Sydney implements and monitors the quality of claims review processes and serves as a liaison to law firms representing claimants that have filed claims with settlements being administered by BrownGreer.
