Lynn has specialized in mass claims resolution for seventeen years, advising management, trustees, claims administrators and companies on the successful implementation and administration of resolution plans. She and Orran Brown founded BrownGreer in September 2002.
After first joining the Dalkon Shield Claimants Trust in 1990 as Assistant Counsel in charge of managing litigation filed against the Trust, Lynn became Manager of a 100 person legal department, and ultimately rose to General Counsel and Executive Director of the Trust. As both lawyer and administrator, Lynn reported to and advised the Trustees on policy issues, compliance with the plan governing that facility, how to wind down the Trust's operations and how much money to distribute to claimants in two pro rata payments. As a manager, she directed the work of employees responsible for issuing $168,000,000 to over 58,000 Dalkon Shield claimants in December 1998 and another $63,000,000 in December of 1999. Lynn was the last employee of the Dalkon Shield Claimants Trust and led it to its closure by Court Order on April 30, 2000.
Since 2000, Lynn has assisted in representing Wyeth on the $3.75 billion national class action settlement of the claims arising from the diet drugs fenfluramine and dexfenfluramine, and the combination of those drugs with phentermine known as “Fen-Phen.” Lynn helps with the design and implementation of systems and procedures to ensure efficient processing of claims in accordance with the terms and provisions of the Settlement Agreement. Lynn also oversees and manages BrownGreer's work in providing claims administration and legal services to the Claims Administrator for the Sulzer Settlement.
She brings to the administration of the Sulzer settlement experience with claims processing, claimant communications, managing a workforce to produce timely and accurate results, providing meaningful information to the client and other invested parties.
Lynn began her practice in Richmond, Virginia as an associate with Browder, Russell, Morris & Butcher, P. C. As an associate with that firm, she handled all aspects of complex litigation, including discovery and court appearances. She is a member of the Virginia State Bar and the Virginia Bar Association and is admitted in the Federal Courts in Virginia and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
